I am Evelyn Parker, an American writer and sociologist based in London, UK. For a number of years I have held an interest in exploring what makes people 'tick' sexually. I have always been interested in the journey people take from the first stirrings to the development of a fully-fledged fetish and all that entailed. Sitting and talking to people about their sexuality has broadened my horizons and allowed me to gain a greater understanding of worlds about which I previously knew little or nothing. So I decided to begin to research this whole notion of fetish and personal discovery further and this web site is the result. The difficulty with undertaking such research is meeting people who are prepared to admit to even having a fetish, let alone explain the details of that fetish and what they do to satisfy their needs without demanding that they go into intimate details to my face. I have discovered that people are far more willing to talk through a keyboard than face to face. So, I am seeking your help to further my research which is intended to reach publication. The first step to furthering my research in this subject is to provide a questionnaire for people to complete with as much, or as little detail as they like. All contributions will help shed light on what for many is a deeply personal – and often secretative – world. It is my hope that through this project the participants and the readers will similarly gain greater insight into what makes others – and themselves – tick.
